- Secret Menu
If you right click on the Windows icon on the screen, you will get a secret menu other than the start menu which includes different options such as Search, Run, Task Manager, Apps and Features, Network Connections and many more. It will be easy for you to access these options by right-click.
- Slide to Shut Down
For a change, if you want to shut down, you can do it now more interestingly. You just have to follow two steps.
- Right-click on Desktop.
- Click New>Shortcut. You will get a box where you have to write a one line code
This will give you an icon on your Desktop which can be renamed as per the choice.
- Virtual Desktop
You can use more than one Desktops in Windows 10 and can switch and close them.
ctrl+win+D creates a virtual Desktop.

You can use ctrl+win+(right arrow/left arrow) to switch between the Desktops. Or you can use an option in the taskbar (which shows the multiple screen) to switch or close the virtual Desktops.
- Automatic Screen Lock
There are situations that you are working on your laptop and have to go somewhere, you forget to lock your laptop. Here Dynamic Lock Feature is used. It automatically locks your PC when you are away.
To enable it, first pair your phone with the PC via bluetooth, then go to Settings>Accounts>Sign-in Options and scroll down and tick the option under Dynamic Lock. Now whenever you move away from your laptop with your phone, your laptop will be automatically locked whenever it is out of the bluetooth’s range.
- Free up Storage
You must have faced storage problems sometimes.To free up space, go to the Settings>System>Storage. Here you will find all the drives in your PC. From here, you can remove the files that you do not need, and if you don’t want to clean the drives, then you can enable Storage Sense which deletes temporary files from apps and files from recycle bin that have been there for over 30 days.
- Color mode
ctrl+win+C turns on and off Color Filters. There are 6 different possible filters, you can find them under Settings > Ease of Access > Color and High Contrast.
- Phone Notifications
You can get your phone’s notifications on your Windows laptop. You just need to install Cortana app and set it up with the same Microsoft account that you use on your PC. Once it is set up, tap the profile icon in Cortana app, go to Settings and tap on the option Sync Settings and enable all the notifications. Once done, open your Windows PC and go to Cortana Settings. Here click on the Notifications and enable send notifications between devices. Click on Manage Notifications to check if the notifications syncing from the phone is enabled.
