Another year, another WWDC. So this time Apple introduced a new update to it’s Mac lineup. Mojave is said to be the biggest macOS update till date. The new update brings a couple of new features like the most awaited Dark Mode, Voice Memo, News App etc. So let’s check out all the big new changes that Apple made to it’s Mac lineup and macOS.
I think the most requested and awaited feature for the macOS was the Dark mode. Before this Apple only let’s you change the theme or colour of the status bar, but with Mojave you can change whole look of the OS, the way the finder window looks, to each and every system app. On the pictures Mojave’s dark mode looks incredible and we can’t wait to try it on our systems. Here’s a look of Dark Mode.
Yes you guessed it right, like with other macOS update Mojave also packs a new wallpaper which I think is stunning. With the new wallpapers, Mojave brings Dynamic Desktop which means the wallpaper changes with time of the day.
The new feature that demands the spotlight is Desktop Stack. For the people with desktop scribbled with hundreds of things the stacks feature will let you arrange everything in folders like things and you can sort them via name, type anything. And also the finder window also get’s new revamped look to it with gallery view.
New screenshot feature look and Markup now integrated seamlessly with screenshot thing will help a great amount of users who use and edit screenshot of their mac. Markup can be called directly from quick look also which is a handy feature.
News, Stocks, Voice Memos and Home
With the new macOS Mojave Apple introduces the iOS apps in Mac also. News, Stocks, Voice Memos and Home apps will now be available with the new MacOS Mojave. With Home app you can control your home devices, with voice memo you can record voices and make voice notes.
Group facetime Apple introduced in iOS in the same event and now they bring Group facetime to macOS facetime app also. You can now facetime with upto 32 people at same time. Obviously we would like to try it our own.
Mac App Store Redesigned
Last year Apple redesigned the iOS App Store but now this year as they say they would divert their time and interest to Mac App Store. From the previews it looks amazing you have new tabs like Discover, Create, Work, Play etc. With UI kit now developers can also with the minimal change in their code can bring their apps to Mac Store also. I am eagerly waiting for this update to come.
Privacy and Security
Aaah… The topic of the hour. This time apple has introduced way new features to improve the customers data and privacy. Like in Safari the intelligent tracking prevention technique prevents various social media like and share button to track down any information from the users. New data protection now requires apps to get permission from user before using mac camera and microphone or any personal data like mail or history.
Only developers version is available now, so if you are ready to pay 99$ then go ahead and download, free fully furnished beta will be available late June and you can check and download from here
